Interview with Riccardo Frigerio

Born in 1993, Riccardo Frigerio started working for the family business as soon as he finished his studies. After graduating in Architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 2018, Frigerio was awarded the title of architect in 2021. In charge of the company's technical department, he follows all stages of product development, also taking an interest in the design of Frigerio stands for fairs, events and showrooms. In 2022, he signed his first project for the company as a designer with the Andorea coffee table.

Question: Describe the Andorea coffee table in three adjectives.
Answer: Essential, refined and sculptural

Question: What are the main uses you envisioned for the Andorea collection?
Answer:I imagined the Andorea coffee table for the living area, an element that can fit into any environment thanks to its minimal and contemporary lines.

Question: What does designing for Frigerio mean to you?
Answer: Designing for Frigerio is a special experience, on the one hand I feel the responsibility and at the same time the enthusiasm and desire to continue the family vocation. A challenge that I hope to continue in the coming years.

Question: A piece of furniture that you have not yet designed but would like to?
Answer: A lamp

Question: How do you combine the need to express your creativity with the demands of the market?
Answer: It is a challenge and a stimulus. On the one hand it can be seen as a limitation, but I believe that at the same time, learning to express myself freely while following the demands of the market can become a path that guides you in your choices, in fact regardless I firmly believe that design is a means to create beauty.
